An LG laptop? Yes, please!

Having either personally purchased or deployed through my jobs over the years, I've seen my fair share of laptops. When I first saw that LG made laptops, my first thought was, "LG made laptops?" Sure, they make great monitors, TVs, and Soundbars. I was intrigued by what they might do in such a competitive market. I decided on the 13.3” LG Ultrabook Ryzen 7 Ultra-Slim Laptop. The basic specs are a Ryzen 7 4700U, 16GB of RAM, 256GB SSD, WIFI 6, 2 USBs, 1 USB-C, and an HDMI port. Quite a lot packed in such a lightweight laptop.
First off, I love the white color on this PC. Could it get dirty? Sure, but I don't think it would be any worse than dark-colored laptops. When I first unboxed it, the laptop felt solid. The case did not feel cheap. Yet, it was probably the lightest laptop I've ever held, which is what you might expect from something named the GRAM. I did like the large rubber feet on the bottom. It established a nice clearance for cooling. Battery life is advertised at 14.5 hours. Although I never fully tested that theory, I did notice over normal usage, the battery life was noticeably excellent. For anyone who's come to expect or hope for a few hours battery, you would be pleasantly surprised. The IPS FHD screen looked clear and crisp. Watching movies would not be an issue on this device. (The DTS:X sound will certainly help as well). The keyboard & keys had a nice solid feel to them. Again, nothing cheap about it. The feel of the keyboard often gets overlooked. I find it's one of the most important things since we type almost more than anything else. If I had one gripe, it might be the touchpad. I've never been a fan of the integrated buttons within a touchpad. It tends to not respond as well as separate buttons. It's a small thing, but it might be more of a personal preference. Otherwise, the touchpad worked as intended.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this offering from LG. Against established brands in this competitive PC market, you might not expect a solid showing from LG. But this laptop has certainly held its own.
